These are my favourite ‘permanent groups’ from Hello! Project. They’re ‘permanent’ because they have released albums and singles. There are 9 permanent groups in Hello! Project, and I’m writing about them in order of my favourites. I’ll also be posting my favourite songs and PVs by them.
1: Morning Musume- Morning Musume is amazing in every way. I don’t like all their songs, and I will admit that their vocals overall are relatively lackluster, but that’s why I love them so much. They are an idol group after all. It’s hard to explain, but it’s the ‘human element’ of Morning Musume as a whole that makes me love them so much. Plus my favourite members of H!P got their starts in Morning Musume. (JunJun and Marippe)
2: Berryz Koubou- Berryz is just so great. Every release has something about it that makes me love them. It’s also kinda amazing to hear how much they’ve changed since 2004. I was listening to my Berryz section on my mp3 player and I got Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai and immediately afterwards I got Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance, my two favourite releases from Berryz Koubou. But from all of their music that I’ve heard, I like all of it.
3: Buono!- Most people would expect to see C-ute or something here, because I’m a huge huge huge fan of Wonderful Hearts overall, but Buono! steals the number three spot. All for 3 songs: Gachinko de Ikou, Renai Rider and Hoshi no Hitsujitachi. Those are my all time favourite Buono songs (which isn’t hard to pick, seeing as though they’ve only had 16 songs that I’ve heard, but those three, including the other 13, are so good. Gachinko de Ikou has the most amazing line in it: “Sekai ni Hitori no jibun no tame ni” That line has some of the most impressive H!P vocals I’ve ever heard and I just gape and smile every time I hear that part.
4: v-u-den- once again, C-ute doesn’t take the spot. I was a late v-u-den fan and didn’t really start liking their music until it was announced that they’d be breaking up. But my favourite song of all time came from them, so they’re up in the top. Ajisai Ai Ai Monogatari is my favourite song of all time. I love it, so v-u-den gets the 4th spot.
5: W- W was my first Hello! Project group, so they of course they’re on here. If I hadn’t hesitantly clicked that link on YouTube to their PV of Matsu wa, I wouldn’t be here today, listening to Gachinko de Ikou and typing about my favourite Hello! Project groups. Either that or I’d be writing about how Buono! was my first H!P group instead. W had 2 great albums and 8 great singles. I miss them, but 17sai no Sayounara ~ARRIVEDERCI~ will remain one of my favourite album songs of all time.
6: GAM- GAM is what the name says it is: (No, not supposed english slang for nice legs) Great Aya and Miki. They don’t have the special place that v-u-den or W have and they’re not as overal good as Buono, Berryz or MoMusu, but I put them in 6th because all of their music I’ve heard was good. Not great, but good at the very least. It would be great if I could listen to them a few times and still continue listening, which unfortunately I can’t do. I can listen to my favourite GAM songs (Aijou Oasis, …H) 2 or three times before I have to change. So they get down a few points for that. Otherwise, I like them.
7: C-ute- C-ute makes it’s appearance! I like C-ute, I really do, but every time they release a new single I’m on the fence about it until 2 weeks after it comes out and then I’m still not sure if I like it. I can’t stand Maimi’s voice and because of that I still have only been able to listen to one song on their third album fully, which was Do Don ga Don Ondou. Really I just don’t like their music or members as much.
*that’s an m-flo video, but it’s the mp3 version of my favourite C-ute song xD
8: Melon Kinenbi/Ongaku Gatas- these two are last because I’ve only ever heard 2 songs all the way through from both of them. From Melon Kinenbi I only heard This is Unmei and Onegai Miwaku no Target and from Ongaku Gatas I’ve only ever heard Narihajimeta Koi no Bell and Yattarouze. And two of those 4 songs I listen to a few times and I’m like ‘oh I like this…’ and then halfway through i’m like ‘uh…’ and I get bored and stop listening. So It’s safe to say that these 2 are last.
and I don’t really care enough about my favourite songs from these 2 groups to post their videos.
sorry to melon and ongaku fans out there xD
in conclusion, my fandom mainly lies in Wonderful Hearts, mainly because those groups are thrown at us constantly, but I really don’t like C-ute much. *shrug*
